Wizzley: A Review

Writing on Wizzley

Writers and internet marketers are on an endless search for writing sites. Reputable sites where they can publish their work. Sites where they can expand their following, make a bit of income, and potentially build a few backlinks to their site, blog, or other online content.

Within the last few days I discovered Wizzley. The site rolled out only in the last week so it's not one with an established track record or high page rank at this point. But I see signs that it holds a great deal of promise. This review will be a rather cursory introduction and review but I will be updating it as time goes by and the site becomes better established.

Design and Ease of Use

Wizzley has a clean, uncluttered appearance. It has a professional looking design. Users are allowed some customization of their content pages. They can adjust the page background color and add images and video as desired.

There are a variety of modules for writers to use including, but not limited to, Flickr, YouTube, Wikipedia, Google Maps, Polls, Article Lists, Duels (for debating), and more.

The navigation is straight forward and for anyone who has used HubPages, it should seem fairly familiar. Edit mode in particular is very, very similar.

At this time I have created only a single page of content there. I encountered no bugs and page loading speed was very good which is a significant plus for busy writers.

The site does offer instructional videos however for those who want additional guideance in creating their content pages on Wizzley. In addition, there are statistics to help writers analyze their results and "tweak" as needed.

Money Making Opportunities

While there are many content sites out there, not all of them offer the same level of income generating opportunities. Wizzley allows writers to share in AdSense, Amazon, Zazzle, and AllPosters revenue, distributing 50%-60% of ad revenue to writers.

Recruiting new members will also generate income, with the referring party receiving 10% of ad impressions from the content created by their referrals. Referral links and widgets are offered for use.

Community

Wizzley has a forum that allows users to interact, ask questions, and solve problems. Admin is visible and responds to questions and solicits input. Until the site is more mature, the "atmosphere" of the forum can't be determined.

Of course authors can develop a following by gaining "fans" just as they build "followers" on Hubpages. Most writers on Hubpages or Squidoo are likely to encounter familiar faces there.

Thus far, the content that I have encountered on the site is high quality. Writing is professional, useful, and unique which means that the content you create there won't be viewed negatively or suffer from the ill effects of junk publishing. Only time will tell how this will translate into traffic and Google Page Rank.

Summary

With the site being only a week or two old, my only conclusion is that it appears to hold a significant amount of promise. I will commit to providing more in depth information in the next couple of months as things unfold. In the meantime, I would highly suggest joining and creating at least a few pages of content to complement your Hubs, Lenses, or blog.

nightbear;

Chef Keem is a co-founder of the site. There are a couple of other Squidoo lensmasters involved.

I have joined up and like what I see so far. I agree that the editor platform is very easy to use. It's a nice combo of Squidoo and Hubpages. And FAST.

I just joined the site and hope to publish a 50 articles before new year. Now that we cannot use our own Amazon Affiliate ID's in HubPages, this looks like a great site to join. Zazzle and AllPosters are new to me and I would like to try that too as an affiliate.
