Want to Go Further with Your Retro Modern Design?
If you are really interested in retro, then obviously you have to think beyond that starburst wall clock.
1950's design calls for bold, bright, primary colors. Think black and white tile in bathrooms and kitchens. Throwing in some red or maybe yellow. Pink and turquoise were a popular color combination as well. Formica and chrome dinettes, chenille bedspreads, and so forth were common too.
In the 1960's geometric shapes and large flowers became popular in drapery, upholsery, on pillows, bedspreads, and so forth. Neon colors, bright color pairings like bright orange and hot pink, as well as more muted green (avocado), gold, yellow, and oranges. Beads were used as room dividers and more. Shapes were space age inspired, and plastic, glass, and metal became common materials in furniture but vinyl was still popular on kitchen chairs. Paneling and faux brick could be found on walls.
While a modern design is a bit different, elements of the 50's and 60's along with the starburst wall clock are common.

Hi, I love the silver starburst one, I think it would look great in my house. My brother bought one of those radio controlled clocks recently, and it kept shooting the dials around at a 100 miles an hour! hee hee he threw it away in the end, it spooked him because it always happened at two in the morning, no idea why, maybe the control centre had a nervous breakdown at that time every night! lol thanks nell
